Happy MARCH, everyone! Whispers of spring are in the air (even as the snowflakes continue to fall) and I am catching the fever bad over here! I can see patches of dead grass where the snow has started to melt and I am positively itching to get back out in the yard and get some dirt under my fingernails again! There are few things in life that make me as happy as a home vegetable garden. Plus, this year I am going for it and planting a full herbal tea garden, which is something I’ve always wanted to do! Those of you who know the depth of my tea addiction can imagine how way-too-excited I am about this idea! I have serious visions of herb bouquets air-drying in every corner of the house all summer long. Yeah, I’m weird like that.

Besides my twiddling green thumbs and twitching tea-drinking pinkies, I have an itchy trigger-finger that’s ready to snap to it and clear some clutter! It’s become very clear around here that winter has taken its toll and our home is in need of a good and hearty spring clean. And first on the list is the Homeschool cupboard. Oh, how that friendly clutter just loves company! Especially curricular clutter it seems. I forced myself NOT to pre-clean before snapping this picture:
No, it’s not terrible, and believe me . . . it’s certainly been worse! But it’s also worse than it looks. After all, this photo spares you the contents of those deceptive baskets. Trust me, it’s not pretty. Yes, the Homeschool cupboard could definitely use a little spring clean pick-me-up along with the kids’ desks, art cupboard, and I think just about every closet in the house! Oh, and don’t get me started on the whole garage situation.
So, I invite you to join us as we swing into spring, rolling up our sleeves and tackling the home and garden this March in ~Our Holistic Homeschool~! Follow along for a month of cultivation and renewal!

A favorite hymn of mine in honor of MARCH!
I invite you to join us in learning this song with your kids in March! (PS. It’s extra fun to sing while marching in place, or in an instrument parade around the house!)

The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
HIS TRUTH IS MARCHING ON!
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps,
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
HIS DAY IS MARCHING ON!
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him; be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
OUR GOD IS MARCHING ON!
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free!
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
OUR GOD IS MARCHING ON!
We can almost hear the trumpet sound, the Lord’s return is near: There are still so many people lost, His message they must hear: Father give us one more moment, one more day, just one more year! With God we’re marching on!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
WITH GOD WE’RE MARCHING ON!

I’m a tea-aholic also. In fact, my very first herb garden was a tea garden, way back in 1978! That led to a small, end of the driveway plant stand, which led to farmer’s market, which led to one of the largest retail herb farms in the midwest! Be careful, herbs can be addictive!!! 🙂
Wow, this just made my day! Thank you for sharing!
